Who we are
SchoolSite is a service of ITeach. ITeach is the trading name of I Teach (Wales) Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 08201497, registered office Ocean Park House, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff CF24 5ET. We decide how the details described here are used, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller, reference ZB186898.
This notice covers this website and its "See your school" form. A school website built on SchoolSite has its own privacy notice, written by that school.
What we collect, and why
When you ask us to build a preview of your school's website, we keep:
- the school you chose and its website address;
- your name, your role if you give it, and your email address;
- when you sent the form, and a code made from your internet address with a secret key, so we can spot the form being misused without keeping the address itself.
We use them to build the preview you asked for, to check it, and to email you about it. We do this because replying to an enquiry, and showing a school what we could do for it, are in our legitimate interests, and it is what you would expect us to do with the details you give. You can object at any time (see Your rights). We do not use them for anything else, and we do not sell them or pass them to anyone for marketing.
The preview itself
A preview is built from the pages, documents and photographs already published on your school's current website. It is private: it can be seen only by someone with its link, and search engines are told not to list it. It is deleted after 30 days, unless your school asks us to keep it longer or decides to take it up.
Where it is kept, and who can see it
Everything is held by Amazon Web Services in London, which hosts SchoolSite for us. Only ITeach staff can see your details: the people who build and check previews, and the team who are told of each request.
How long we keep it
Your request is deleted automatically 12 months after you send it. Your name and email address are also kept with the preview, as the person who asked for it, for as long as the preview exists. If your school becomes a customer, its agreement with us says how long what it gives us is kept.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, and its fonts come from our own servers, so your visit is not reported to anyone else. If you open one of the sample schools from the Designs section, that sample website sets one cookie, which lets your browser show the sample as you click around it. It holds no personal information and lasts up to 35 days. If you try colours or a font on a sample, your choice is kept in your own browser only.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email our data protection officer at dpo@i-teach.org.uk, or write to us at the address above. You can also ring us on 02920 474069.
If you are unhappy with how we have used your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
